Arriving in Split Croatia

November 12, 2011

Even though I’m on vacation, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get up early and see the sunrise over the cities we were visiting.  In many cases, it was pretty cold on the upper deck at 7:00, but I still had to go out and get the picture.

Here are a few images as we pulled into port and the sun was just coming up over Split.

Split is a Mediterranean city on the eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea, centered around the ancient Roman Palace of the Emperor Diocletian and its wide port bay. Split has a population of 178,000 citizens and a metropolitan area numbering up to about 468,000.

Our day will begin with a motor coach ride to the town of Trogir, about 40 minutes from Split.
