Burnet Bluebonnet Festival Parade

The Burnet Bluebonnet Festival is a celebration of Texas’ state flower in the state’s bluebonnet capital. The event draws tens of thousands of visitors every year and features live music, a Grand Parade, Pet Parade, Arts & Crafts Vendors, and many children’s activities. The Burnet Gunfighters are always a hit with their exciting and good-humored Wild West style shoot-outs at the train depot; the Mighty Thomas Carnival is running for the kids and just off the town square is a Lakes Area Rod and Classic Car Display.   Later in the evening you can enjoy the Demolition Derby at the Burnet County Fairgrounds making this a fun tradition for the whole family.

I arrived at about 10 am to walk the vendor area and find out the parade route.  At 11 am the parade began, it lasted almost an hour.  As the weather was less than “Texas-like” at 58 and windy, I didn’t stay for the majority of the activities.  But I’m sure they were as exciting and engaging as the parade.  Here are a few of my favorites from the parade.   You can see my complete gallery of images on my Smugmug here.
