Winter is the rainy season in Hawaii and you take a chance when you book a vacation this time of year. A few years ago we came for Christmas and didn’t have a drop of rain… but this year for Thanksgiving, we have not had a full day of sunshine in over a week. But… on some days, the island is not socked in with rain and its fun to try and drive to a location where you might see blue sky.. or at least find an hour or so without rain.
On Monday, we headed to the east side of the island– because while Honolulu was wet and drizzling, Kaneohe Bay was showing sunny. A drive across H3 and up Kamehameha Hwy to Kualoa Park and a view of Mokoli’i Island and then a drive back across the Pali Highway made for a nice afternoon outing.
