Sunrise was at 6:30 and we were pulling into Cozumel shortly after sunrise. We have an “all ashore” this morning of 8:30am. Several of the excursion will require transport from the island of Cozumel over to the mainland, so an early start on the day is needed for those of us with mainland adventures ahead of us.
But first, lets stop to enjoy the beauty of the early morning sun on the harbor and the view from the top deck of the Disney Fantasy as the captain and harbor master put us into place at our dock
Keeping with my post processing theme, I also have an example of an HDR processed image of this scene. Below are the three images I took, all hand held, with the camera set to “bracket”. I captured one image one stop under exposed, one correctly exposed (according to the camera) and one over exposed. Then using Lightroom’s HDR blending feature, I merged the three images together. This allows you to use the sky from the underexposed image where you get much more of the character of the clouds, the water and coastline of the over exposed image so you get the opened shadows and details combined with all the other areas of the photo that are average exposure. The results produce more vivid colors, better details and a image with overall better exposure balance across the entire image.
