Finding Light in the Forest

With the vacation postings complete I’m on to learning new and different techniques for post processing images and also learning more of the advanced features of the camera.

I’ve been practicing with exposure bracketing so that I could test some HDR images.  (More on that in a future post)

I’ve also purchased a nice carbon fiber tripod with a ball head so I can take razor-sharp landscapes and other nature pictures.  Today I went to Congaree National Park to try out the new tripod with some low ISO images in the forest.  My goal was to find the sunlight peaking through to the forest floor.

I then enhanced these with a couple of new features I learned in Photoshop Elements  (high pass filter) and changing the mode of the layer for soft light, vivid light, or other interesting settings.  Here are my images from today…  “finding light in the forest.”
