Wednesday – March 30, 2011 – Local Puno Family
As we left the Sillustani burial grounds we asked if we could stop and visit one of the local families and see their home. As Eliseo was very familiar with this area, he was able to make the arrangements. We stopped at a local home; traditional for this area. The home was simple; sleeping quarters, outside cooking area, a storage area for their potatoes, a place for the animals and a central courtyard where they completed their daily tasks of preparing food or weaving.
This was our last stop before heading to the airport in Juliaca for our flight back to Lima. Tonight, some of our party will depart for the USA and the remaining 8 of us will prepare for our next adventure in the Amazon!
