Yesterday was the annual Asian Festival at the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures.  I headed down to the event about 1pm but it took over an hour to find some place to park and I didn’t get into the event until almost 2:30pm.  Many of the shows were already over, but I did manage to catch a few of the stage shows before the end of the day.

The food was plentiful from every cuisine you could imagine: Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Indian, Pakistan and more.  There were plenty of booths to trade your cash or credit for food and beverage tickets but the lines at most of the food booths were long.  Everyone there seems to be enjoying the many flavors of the far east and Asia.

After the event we walked over past the Tower of Americas to the location were they were hosting the Confucius Wishing Lanterns in the Convention Center Lagoon.  This year they also had 6 long floats illuminated with various scenes.  The lanterns launched about 6:30.
