Wachau Valley – Durnstein

Thursday – May 12, 2011 – Durnstein

After sailing through the night, we pulled into Durnstein in the morning.  We had the better part of the morning to explore the town and the ruins.  We had a short walk into the town along the wine fields and farms between the ship and the main town.

Rossatz can be seen across the river and small ferries work to take passagers between the towns.

You will see images captured while walking along Hauptstr the Main Shopping street.  You will also see some images of the Steinertor – Steiner gate, the Kunigundenkirche – (grave yard), St. Clara’s Klarissinen Kloster, and the Stift Durnstein – Monastery.
