Bear Hunting

Today I worked on a composite and painting.  I was trying to paint the bear with several layers and test different techniques to get more texture in the fur when painting.  It wasn’t that successful.  But.. that is why we try new things.. some work.. some don’t.  This guy is painted with two different layers with different fur brushes.  The second layer I just painted the tips and lowered the opacity of the layer over the fully painted version.

The bear is a photo I captured last Friday at our zoo.. I managed to get to the bear area just a feeding time so they were a bit more active than usual.  It’s is so hard to get bear images with eyes clear as they are so small.. and in the hot bright sun, they don’t open them very often.

The rocks are my images from Pupukea beach in Hawaii.  The little boy is a stock image.  The background is my design, just painted with the mixer brush.

Title of this one:  Bear Hunting
