Down the Rhine to Rudesheim

After leaving Koblenz, we cruise the Rhine river through the main area where the castles are located.  Again the weather was uncooperative… rainy, cold and dreary.  So images were less than spectacular.  While I took several images, I have not processed them.  If you would like to see this part of Germany, jump over to my Flickr Gallery and visit this album.  Its my trip through the same area of the Rhine on a previous UniWorld trip in 2012.  The Main_Rhine_Koblenz 2012

So then it was on to Rudesheim.   We docked in time to go into the town and see the market at night.  We had a quick guided tour through the streets with enough information to help us find our way back to the ship.  Fortunately for us we were docked at a pier only a few blocks from the market and it wasn’t raining!

Here are a few of my image captures from the evening in Rudesheim.

Wiki says: Rüdesheim is a winemaking town in the Rhine Gorge and thereby part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It lies in the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis district in the Regierungsbezirk of Darmstadt in Hesse, Germany. It is officially known as Rüdesheim am Rhein, which distinguishes it from Rüdesheim an der Nahe.
