I often see new Photoshop users apply the Hue and Saturation adjustment tool to their work and they automatically begin sliding the global sliders on the top bar to make color adjustments. While this is fine if GLOBAL color adjustment is what you are after, like to warm or cool down your composition. But, it’s not really the best use of this tool.
Photos are pixels and pixels are blends of many color channels. It’s very difficult to isolate the yellows from your greens or the blues from your purples or the cyan from your blue. But this tool offers a way to TARGET your adjustments and narrow your selection of pixels to a very specific range of colors. That is what those two little rainbow bars at the bottom of the tool are used for. Here is a quick (less than 7 minute video) to show you the trick of how to target your colors for refined adjustments using the Hue and Saturation adjustment tool!
