I use to be a Nikon shooter.. but last December, I made the jump to the mirrorless world of Sony and love it! I now own the A7iii and the A7Riii and I added the 12-24 f4, 70-200 f4, 24-70 f2.8 GM, and 90mm Macro lenses to the shelf already. This week, I tested a friends 100-400 f4.5 GM that he has for sale. I wanted the extra reach of this lens because I plan to make a trip to Africa in February 2020. I put the lens on the A7Riii and made one adjustment to the setting on the lens focus button. I set it up to toggle between the full frame and APC mode. So when I wanted the extra reach, I could jump to the APC mode and stretch the lens to 600mm. I went to our Brackenridge Park where we have an area that the white egrets and vultures roost most of the day. Here are a few images from my morning test.
