The Cunningham Cabin in the Grand Tetons

In between editing my videos and learning how to use Adobe Premier Pro software, and editing the hundreds of images I brought back from the July trip to Wyoming and South Dakota, I also updated my Blog and rebuilt my Smugmug gallery.  When I moved over from inMotion Hosting to Bluehost last year, I lost 9 years of my blog posts… only keeping the text but all the associated image references were lost.  Some of these links were broken because I rebranded from Shutterdo to my name, but even the past 4 or 5 years of terributlerphotography posts were destroyed.  So.. in between new work, I try to recover a few past posts each weeks so I can build backward and recover the older years of my work.  I’ve finished 2018 and almost finished 2017.  It’s a painful process of finding the images, reloading them, attaching them to the post and insuring that they are all in the right folders.  Lesson learned.. don’t move your blog or at least make sure you use tools other than the ones provide by WordPress!

Anyhow.. I’m working on the July images.  I did post a few captures to my personal Facebook, but will now be posting to the Photography page instead.  So if you have not joined the page, please click the like button so you get the posts in your regular news feed.  It’s transparent after you “like” the page.  My posts will still come to your personal news stream just as before.  Facebook just won’t let WordPress directly post to personal pages anymore.  Anything to keep us technically challenged, right?!

I also resurrected my Instagram account.  I thought I would try it again.  I never really liked it  because you can only post from a mobile device and I never take pictures on my phone.  I’ve been experimenting with some ways to get images from my PC to Instagram.  If I can find an easy workflow, I might begin posting there again.  If not, well..  the Facebook page will have to be the limit of my social media because I don’t like Twitter and won’t be using that platform.  I’m also exploring 500px to see if I like that.

So enough chatter.. how about some images!!

These were captured at the Cunningham cabin in the Grand Tetons.  It’s beautiful in the summer but I could not imagine living in this small wooden building in the dead of winter in such a hostile area.  The ceilings are low to conserve heat.  I understand they would bring the livestock into one side of the cabin in the winter and live in the other side.  I took the one image (bracketed and HDR blended) from inside looking out the window.  Definitely a beautiful view out your living room window…  in the summer time!
