Back from Africa – Leopard in a Tree

I’m back from my trip to South Africa and I can only say that it was everything I had hoped it would be and more!  We started the journey in Cape Town, traveled to Victoria Falls, road a train back to Johannesburg and then flew to Thornybush Game Reserve , Waterside Lodge, for three days of safari game drives.  I came home with over 6000 images and 200 videos.  I’ve managed to toss out the blurry images and cut the lot down to just over 4700 images, which includes the brackets and many duplicates as I shot in bursts much of the time.

So needless to say I have a lot of material to drive into and begin to select for post-processing!

I decided to edit from the game drives backwards to Cape Town, as the animals are always the most popular.  I will be posting a few of the images here on the blog as I get them processed.  They may be in no particular order.  I’ve sorted the Thornybush game drives by animal types versus dates so I can review all the lions, elephants, leopards, etc. together, regardless of the day the image was captured.  I will be processing many more than I post, as I plan to submit the best to my Shutterstock account, and multiple poses, camera angles and focal lengths are necessary to meet clients needs.

So far.. just 8 leopards images processed…   here they are – full width:
