Hout Bay – Cape Town South Africa

One of the days in Cape Town at the beginning of our adventure, we had some time on our own to explore the area.  We decide to purchase one of the hop on and off bus passes and head off on a trip around the Cape Town area.  We headed out to the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden which took us on a ride around the Cape Town bay.

After leaving the gardens we were on the blue line and traveling along the southeast coastline.  We came to a stop named Hout Bay and decided to jump off to see if there was a nice place to eat.  WOW!  What a beautiful place to stop.

Not only was the harbor and bay gorgeous, but we also wandered upstairs to the Wharfside Grill Restaurant.  I can only say – FANTASTIC!!   I had one of the best grilled shrimp and calamari dishes that I’ve ever eaten at this place.  Great food, great view, great waiter… and the price was unbelievable reasonable.  And COLD LOCAL BEER… what else could you ask for!

Here are a few of my favorite captures from walking around the harbor on this beautiful South African day!  And this was the beginning of our trip!
